On the front of this beautifully designed coin, the text proudly says, PRESENTED BY THE COMMANDING OFFICER and USS SPRINGFIELD along the bottom. In the middle sits a shiny gold anchor, the easily recognizable 2 fish logo and 7 shiny stars in 3d design. The background is black enamel.

On the back is a 2d design of a dual colored blue and red submarine. The badge of the submarine (called SSN 761) sits proudly in the middle. Within the badge, it says: USS SPRINGFIELD and UNITED FOR FREEDOM The text along the outer area reads TOUGH and PROUD

This large, 2 inch challenge coin is shiny gold on both sides and has enamel colors
