Rare Spanish language Challenge coin: Saint Michael Archangel
Rarely are Spanish coins created. Latin coins: yes, a lot – but Spanish coins? Not too many!!
This heavy, shiny gold coin is 2 inches tall and about 3mm thick. The front has Saint Michael the Archangel posing with a sword in his right hand. Below his feet is the devil just behind a blank banner. Perhaps you can inscribe something there? There are 2 unknown crests on either side of Saint Michael. A quick Google search didn’t pull anything up. The text along the front edge reads: San Miguel Arcangel Patria • Honor • Lealtad , this translates to: Saint Michael the Archangel Homeland • Honor • Loyalty A swirl edge cut finishes the border around the shiny gold front.
On the back of the coin, the text reads: Curso TC. Salvador Cordoba Muñoz , Along the bottom the text says: 8 – Enero – 1999 , Enero translates to January 8, 1999. Muñoz fought in the military for Colombian independence. The back also includes 3 flags with enamel colors and numerous crests and symbols.
A petal edge cut finishes the back.
This coin ships next day (excludes Holidays and Sundays). Display stand not included.
